What a horrible tragedy for everyone - to lose what little you have, whether by fire or looting is devastating. It's worse when you realize the police probably won't find the culprit(s) so no one will be held responsible.

I will pray for your friends and for everyone affected. I will also pray for justice to be done - justice that clearly comes from God. I'm sad for you as well Chantelle - you and Paul and the kids. You put so much of yourselves into ministering in Niger and I know this has to hurt you deeply on a personal level as well. Please don't lose faith now...trust that God will use this situation to His glory.

Oh, My friend, I feel your heart. I pray that doors would open, that your safety would not be at risk, that you could do those things that are on your heart to do to help. Hi Chantelle,

Just this week our family was reminiscing about the time we got share with Bennett, as I babysat him. Sierra giggled when I told her how she used to call him "Memmet." These sweet memories prompted me to look you up, and I am so thankful that I did!

What amazing work you are doing. Your photos tell such vivid stories. Bennett and Arielle are beautiful! You are acting out God's plan for your lives with courage, integrity, and His amazing Strength. I am in awe.

I know it's been a number of years since we've connected. I had "new mama" brain around the time you were planning your move to Niger. You had shared your wonderful news about Arielle, but I never got to meet her in person.

I'm so excited to keep up with your blog.

Your words and thoughts blessed my heart. I spent a few days in Niger during my years in Africa and can just picture your life there. What a blessing for you to spend some time in Turkey and France!

What a delightful story--but it's so much more than a story. This is what it looks like to live out the first greatest and second greatest commandments (from both OT and NT) -- loving God with all your heart, soul, mind, strength, and your neighbor as yourself. My heart rejoices.

By the way, when I had work in Niamey for a few days, I saw (and snapped pictures of) camels carrying such loads but only now do I understand the deeper significance, thanks to today's blog post.

What a great update!! That medical equipment is truly a God-given gift! I was smiling, thinking of all the people who will benefit from having it.

I'm taking a guess here re: the coffee table items. I'm going as follows:
